Overview of Confidant Health

An introduction to how Confidant works.

At Confidant Health, our mission is to improve the wellbeing of individuals impacted by mental health or substance use struggles, either personally or within their family.

We do this by providing virtual therapy, medication, coaching, support groups, and DIY exercises that support each individual in reaching their goal. There are no set programs at Confidant, everyone's care plan is personalized and informed by outcomes data.

We're a mission driven company working to ensure mental health and addiction care is accessible and high quality. Our goal is to create a community of people helping each other thrive.

What does this mean for you? Regardless of your goals, we will help you get there with best in class virtual care.

The Confidant Health Clinical Care Team

The Confidant Health clinical care team includes physicians, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, advanced practice registered nurses, counselors, social workers, coaches, and care manager.

Once you download the Confidant Health app, you have access to a range of virtual services without navigating common difficulties such as location, insurance coverage, or treatment philosophy. Additionally, you're paired with a care manager who can help you navigate the different appointment types and providers in the app.

Many of our guests opt to meet with multiple members of our care team, for example, receiving cognitive behavioral therapy from a therapist, while meeting with a coach to strategize to reach goals, and receiving medications from a nurse practitioner.

At Confidant, we know that collaboration leads to better outcomes, so we put all the professionals you need in one virtual place. We've built technology and clinical processes to ensure that all Confidant Health guests get the best care and outcomes possible.

Individual vs. Group Setting

Depending on why you're seeking help and other personal preferences, you might be drawn to one-on-one services or groups - or want to try both. That's okay! At Confidant we don't have set programs, instead each person can use the app to meet their needs.

You can meet individually with a clinician, counselor, or coach or join a support group facilitated by a Confidant team member. Both one-on-one services and groups are delivered virtually.

While the vast majority of addiction treatment service providers use group therapy as their primary intervention, evidence suggests that group therapy may not be the most effective treatment method for recovery. However, millions of people have been helped through fellowship programs, group therapy, and support groups. For these reasons, Confidant offers both one-on-one care and virtual groups.

Groups meet on a variety of cadences, from weekly, monthly, and quarterly, and range in target audience and topic. Some groups are run as challenges or workshops while others meet on a regular basis. We're always open to new ideas, so if you don't see a group you're looking for just let your matchmaker know!

Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT)

Medications may be useful in treating some forms of addiction. For example, there is scientific evidence that MAT is the most efficient way to provide addiction treatment for opioid use disorder.

Confidant provides access to medications to treat both opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder, as well as other psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety when clinically appropriate.

The Confidant Health system is optimized to help patients get access to MAT quickly - usually within the same week.
