Like most medications, there are some known side effects of Buprenorphine. Talk with your provider if you have concerns about these side effects or if you experience any that don’t go away.
Common side effects include:
- Constipation, headache, nausea, and vomiting
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness and fatigue
- Sweating
- Dry mouth
- Muscle aches and cramps
- Inability to sleep
- Fever
- Blurred vision or dilated pupils
- Tremors
- Palpitations
- Disturbance in attention
- You may experience symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Tell your healthcare provider if you experience any of the following:
- Shaking
- Sweating more than normal
- Feeling hot or cold more than normal
- Runny nose or watery eyes
- Goose bumps
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Muscle aches
- Some side effects may be signs of an overdose. Seek emergency help if you experience any of the following:
- Feel sleepy and uncoordinated
- Have blurred vision
- Have slurred speech
- Cannot think well or clearly
- Have slowed reflexes and breathing
